_:According to State Information Service Egypt, the Ministry of Transport has outlined plans to develop specialized human resources to support the expanding transport sector and its infrastructure projects.
During a World Bank-hosted workshop titled 'Investing in Human Capital for the Future of Transport in Egypt: Moving Forward with the Vision of Establishing the Egyptian International University for Transport Engineering and Technology (ENUT),' the ministry shared its vision. The event was attended by South Korea's ambassador to Egypt and focused on collaboration with prominent Korean institutions such as the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), Korea National University of Transportation (KNUT), Korea Maritime and Ocean University (KMOU), Korea National Railway, and Hyundai Rotem, along with international development partners.
The ministry revealed that since 2014, Egypt has invested over EGP 2 trillion in modernizing its transport system, including roads, railways, public transport, ports, and logistics networks. As part of this expansion, the ministry is progressing with the establishment of ENUT, which will offer academic education, technical and vocational training, applied research, and technology transfer.
The university is intended to equip specialists to meet both current and future needs of Egypt's transport sector. Developed in cooperation with the World Bank, the Korea Green Growth Trust Fund (KGGTF), and various Korean partners, ENUT aims to become a regional hub for transport education, training, research, and capacity building, serving Egypt and the broader Middle East and Africa regions.
