Cairo: Egypt's under-17 national football team secured a valuable 2-1 victory over Tunisia on Saturday in the second round of Group A matches at the CAF U17 Africa Cup of Nations currently hosted by Morocco.According to State Information Service Egypt, Tunisia took an early lead through Moncef Thabti from the penalty spot in the 11th minute. However, Mohamed Gamal equalized for Egypt with another penalty in the 42nd minute, keeping Egypt in contention as the match continued.Amir Aboul Ezz scored a late winner in the 89th minute, securing Egypt their first victory in the continental tournament. This tournament also serves as a qualifier for the FIFA U17 World Cup, adding significance to Egypt's win.Egypt had opened its campaign with a goalless draw against Ethiopia, which initially put them in a challenging position. Meanwhile, Tunisia had drawn 1-1 with Morocco in the opening round, setting a competitive tone for their encounter with Egypt.With the win, Egypt moved to the top of Group A with four poi nts, while Tunisia remained at the bottom with one point, pending the result of the other group match between Morocco and Ethiopia. Egypt's next challenge will be against Morocco in its final group-stage match on Tuesday.
