Cairo: Egypt's Holding Company for Water and Wastewater (HCWW) will launch a unified digital platform for drinking water and wastewater services at the beginning of October, providing citizens with 49 services online. HCWW Chairman Mostafa el Shimi stated that the platform is designed to make services easier to access, reduce the time required to complete procedures, and limit the need for customers to visit service centers.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the project will introduce a single digital system for customer services and commercial operations across HCWW and its 25 affiliated companies. It will be rolled out gradually, while existing commercial systems at six companies will also be upgraded. The platform will be connected to electronic payment and collection systems, allowing customers to complete more procedures and payments online.

El Shimi mentioned that the project will standardize procedures across water and wastewater companies and improve the way services are provided to customers. The gradual rollout will allow the company to test services and technical systems and address any problems before expanding the platform nationwide. Additionally, the project will provide updated data on company performance to support planning, monitoring, and decision-making.

The platform is being developed in cooperation with Misr Advanced Systems Company as part of the Housing Ministry's plans to expand digital services and improve access to public utilities. Misr Advanced Systems (MAS) Chairman el Shewihdy Abdel Fattah indicated that the system is being designed to work with the different technologies currently used by HCWW subsidiaries while allowing them to gradually move toward a unified digital system.
