Egypt to Introduce New Tax Relief Measures in Upcoming Fiscal Year

Cairo: Minister of Finance Ahmed Kouchouk has announced plans to introduce a new set of tax relief measures in the upcoming fiscal year, starting on July 1st. These measures are part of broader efforts to ease the burden on investors and boost trust within the business community.

According to State Information Service Egypt, Kouchouk emphasized the government’s focus on expanding the tax base to create fiscal space for more incentive-driven initiatives. The ministry is striving to simplify procedures and reduce both tax and non-tax obligations for taxpayers.

He noted that a practical program is underway to consolidate revenue-collecting bodies and cut non-tax burdens, while reaffirming the government’s commitment to fostering a more efficient and transparent tax environment.

Kouchouk added that the first round of tax relief measures attracted a significant number of new taxpayers and has already had a positive impact. Preliminary results from the initial package will be announced at a press conference befo
re the end of the month.

Kouchouk praised the positive response from businesses and the Egyptian Tax Authority (ETA), citing a 38 percent rise in tax revenues over the last ten months without adding new burdens. This demonstrates a strong partnership with taxpayers in Egypt.
