Cairo: Egypt is set to host the International Research Commercialization Expo (IRC Expo 2025) on December 11-12, under the patronage of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi. The event, which will take place at the St. Regis Hotel in the New Administrative Capital, is slated to be inaugurated by Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly.
According to State Information Service Egypt, the annual expo is the largest of its kind in the region and aims to bridge the gap between scientific research and industry. It will serve as a strategic platform for research commercialization, technology transfer, and industry collaboration. Themed 'Market the Mind - How Research Drives Economic Growth,' the 2025 expo seeks to foster collaboration among academia, industry, and investors to advance the commercialization of scientific innovations.
The IRC Expo 2025 will convene researchers, entrepreneurs, and industrial players under one roof, offering specialized discussions and workshops on funding mechanisms and technology marketing. These activities are designed to support sustainable development and facilitate the transition toward a knowledge-based economy.
This year's partners include the Federation of Arab Scientific Research Councils (FASRC), which aims to enhance regional collaboration, and the Egyptian Intellectual Property Authority (EGIPA), focused on facilitating the commercialization of research outputs. The European Union will also participate as a global partner, helping to strengthen connections with European innovation networks. Additionally, the Egyptian Knowledge Bank (EKB) will provide a scientific knowledge base to support researchers and innovators.
