Cairo: Minister of State for Military Production Salah Suliman Gomblat announced a strategic expansion into artificial intelligence and efforts to combat cyber warfare in the coming phase. During a meeting with employees following his swearing-in before President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, Gomblat pledged to maximize efforts to serve the nation by implementing political directives to localize advanced manufacturing technologies, deepen local production, and attract investments to enhance the national economy.
According to State Information Service Egypt, Gomblat emphasized the importance of addressing global challenges through collaboration with state institutions. He urged employees to bolster the status of military production, maintaining its leadership in both military and civilian sectors. Gomblat expressed gratitude towards previous leaders and their roles in advancing the sector, notably acknowledging the contributions of late minister Mohamed Saeed el Assar and former minister Mohamed Salah El Din Mostafa.
During the meeting, Gomblat highlighted the military production sector’s advanced capabilities, describing the ministry’s system as integrated and unique. He noted that affiliated companies and units are crucial for meeting the Armed Forces and police’s needs for weapons, ammunition, and advanced electronic systems. Additionally, he emphasized the sector’s civilian role in producing competitive, high-quality products and contributing to national development projects.
Gomblat stated that the ministry will continue to refine its plans, focusing on performance improvement, productivity increase, and investing in human resources. He outlined a development plan based on core values such as teamwork, knowledge transfer, innovation, quality standards, commitment fulfillment, and optimal resource use. The plan supports sustainable development strategies and greater reliance on local manufacturing capabilities, integrating with various state bodies and the private sector.
