Egypt to Deepen US Energy Partnerships

Cairo: Egypt's Petroleum Minister Karim Badawi announced the nation's willingness to enhance collaborations with US energy companies to foster their growth across Africa. Speaking at the Egypt-US Policy Leaders Forum 2025, Badawi underscored Egypt's strategic connections with 57 international oil firms and positioned the country as a gateway to the continent.According to State Information Service Egypt, Badawi highlighted Egypt's advanced oil, gas, and mining infrastructure. He reiterated the ministry's commitment to adding value to resources amidst a global shift towards renewable energy, which allows fossil fuels to be redirected to high-value industries. Additionally, he pointed out the significance of skilled human resources and ongoing environmental initiatives aimed at reducing emissions.Apache CEO John Christmann commended Egypt's sector reforms and the support extended to foreign partners. He noted significant discoveries and the promising gas potential of Egypt's Western Desert.
