Egypt Strengthens Aviation Ties with International Delegation

Cairo: The Ministry of Civil Aviation welcomed a high-level international delegation from leading global aviation organizations, including the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), the African Civil Aviation Commission (AFCAC), and the Latin American Civil Aviation Commission (LACAC). The delegation conducted an inspection of Egypt's civil aviation facilities and signed cooperation agreements aimed at improving aviation safety, promoting technical capacity-building and training, and sharing expertise, the ministry said in a statement.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the visit also aimed to strengthen strategic partnerships, enhance institutional dialogue, and showcase Egypt's ongoing efforts in civil aviation development and modernization. Civil Aviation Minister Sameh El-Hefny, ICAO Air Transport Bureau Director Mohammed Khalifa Rahma, and Egypt's Alternate Representative on the ICAO Council Reem Arabi welcomed the delegation, which included aviation and air transport officials from Africa and Latin America.

The delegation visited the headquarters of the Egyptian Civil Aviation Authority (ECAA), where officials briefed them on the authority's regulatory and supervisory framework, technical capabilities, and operational functions. The group also toured several key departments. Visits included the ECAA Operations Center and Crisis Management Room, described by the ministry as a strategic hub equipped with globally certified systems for managing emergencies and unconventional operational situations.

Delegation members were briefed on real-time monitoring and analysis mechanisms, decision-support systems, and crisis-response protocols designed to ensure operational continuity, air traffic safety, and the efficiency of national-level crisis management.
