Belgrade: Ambassador of Egypt to the Republic of Serbia Ahmed Salama Suleiman met with Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia, Mr. Marko Djuric. The meeting was attended by several diplomats and senior officials from the Serbian Ministry of Foreign Affairs to discuss ways to advance bilateral relations and build upon the existing positive momentum between the two friendly countries.
According to State Information Service Egypt, the Serbian Foreign Minister affirmed that Egypt is a true friend and reliable partner of Serbia, noting the deep historical ties that bind the two countries and the convergence of their visions and positions on regional and international issues, as well as their shared commitment to developing cooperation in a way that serves mutual interests.
For his part, the Egyptian Ambassador expressed his appreciation for the warm reception, emphasizing the genuine and friendly sentiments he has witnessed towards Egypt at both the official and popular levels, and his aspiration to work towards deepening bilateral relations and translating the existing political understanding into practical and sustainable results.
The meeting addressed ways to expand cooperation in several priority areas, including economic and trade cooperation, investment promotion, direct air links, facilitating the movement of people, energy, agriculture, health and pharmaceutical industries, and information and communication technology. Emphasis was placed on the importance of supporting communication between public and private sector institutions in both countries, which contributes to strengthening partnership opportunities and mutual development.
The two sides also exchanged views on a number of regional and international issues of common interest and stressed the importance of continued coordination and consultation in international forums.
The meeting concluded with an affirmation of their anticipation for the next phase of cooperation and their readiness to enhance relations through high-level visits, thereby supporting the advancement of the Egyptian-Serbian partnership to broader and more effective horizons and translating the distinguished relations between the two countries into tangible results that benefit their peoples.
