Cairo: The Egyptian Red Crescent has dispatched its 84th "Zad Al-Izza... From Egypt to Gaza" convoy, loaded with urgent humanitarian aid for the Gaza Strip. This ongoing initiative is a testament to the Red Crescent's role as the national coordinator for aid to Gaza.
According to State Information Service Egypt, the convoy includes more than 280,000 food baskets, over 800 tons of flour, and more than 3,200 tons of essential medical and relief supplies, along with over 1,500 tons of petroleum products. The "Zad Al-Izza... From Egypt to Gaza" convoy initially launched on July 27th, with thousands of tons of aid, including food supplies, flour, infant formula, medical supplies, medicines, personal hygiene items, and fuel. The Egyptian Red Crescent has been consistently present at the border since the crisis began, ensuring the continuous flow of aid.
The Rafah crossing has remained open from the Egyptian side, allowing the organization to maintain its readiness at logistical centers. Their efforts have facilitated the entry of over half a million tons of humanitarian and relief supplies into Gaza, supported by a dedicated force of 35,000 volunteers.
