Alexandria: 'Egypt has witnessed an unprecedented expansion in major national agricultural and development projects in recent years,' Agriculture and Land Reclamation Minister Alaa Farouk said. Speaking at the annual Rotary District 2451 conference in Alexandria, Farouk said the government's agricultural strategy focuses on horizontal expansion through land reclamation and the addition of new farmland, as well as vertical expansion to boost yields through modern technologies and a more efficient use of land and water resources.

According to State Information Service Egypt, Farouk highlighted major projects in the New Delta, North Sinai, Toshka, Al-Moghra, and the New Egyptian Countryside. He also pointed to research efforts to develop high-yield, climate-resilient crop varieties and stressed measures to improve livestock and poultry production, dairy collection centers, and disease prevention, while supporting investment and small farmers.
