Cairo:Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly affirmed Egypt's strong opposition to the annexation of Palestinian territories and the displacement of Palestinians, emphasizing the importance of preserving the unity and territorial integrity of these areas. He delivered these remarks in Egypt's statement at the summit on Palestine and the two-state solution, co-chaired by the United Kingdom, France, and Canada during the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly.

According to State Information Service Egypt, Madbouly participated in the session on behalf of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi. He expressed gratitude to the United Kingdom, France, and Canada for organizing the meeting at what he described as a critical moment. Madbouly outlined Egypt's vision for resolving the Palestinian issue and achieving Middle East peace, stating that a political settlement ending the occupation and establishing an independent Palestinian state along the June 4, 1967 borders, with Al Quds (occupied East Jerusalem) as its capital, is essential.

He highlighted the unprecedented challenges facing the two-state solution, including Israel's expansion of settlements, land seizures, increased settler violence in the West Bank, and attempts to change the historical and legal status of Al Quds. Additionally, he noted Israel's control over large parts of the Gaza Strip and the ongoing restrictions on humanitarian aid access.

Madbouly welcomed efforts by the United Kingdom, France, Canada, and other nations to combat illegal settlement activities in the occupied Palestinian territories. He stressed the need for practical measures to prevent annexation, settlement expansion, and the displacement of Palestinians.

Furthermore, he emphasized the importance of supporting the Palestinian Authority to maintain its responsibilities, enabling it to resume its role in the Gaza Strip and protect Palestinian territorial and institutional unity. Madbouly also called for the simultaneous implementation of US President Donald Trump's plan and UN Security Council Resolution 2803, which includes upholding the ceasefire, facilitating humanitarian aid, ensuring Israeli withdrawal, controlling arms, deploying an international stabilization force, empowering the National Committee for the Administration of Gaza, and initiating the reconstruction process.
