Rafah: Egypt received a new group of Palestinians returning to the Gaza Strip through the Rafah land crossing on Sunday, July 05, 2026, as authorities completed procedures for the 58th batch of returnees. Officials at the terminal finalized entry procedures of the returnees ahead of their return to Gaza, a crossing official said.
According to State Information Service Egypt, volunteers from the Egyptian Red Crescent received the returnees, facilitating procedures in coordination with the relevant authorities, distributing "return kits" and providing psychosocial support for children. Egyptian Red Crescent teams were deployed at the crossing to provide humanitarian assistance, including family reunification services, personal care supplies, and return kits for Palestinians heading back to the enclave.
Separately, Egyptian authorities were preparing to receive a new group of wounded and sick Palestinians from Gaza for treatment at Egyptian hospitals. The Egyptian Ministry of Health has established a medical point at the Rafah crossing to examine incoming patients, assess their conditions, and transfer them by equipped ambulances to hospitals across Egypt.
