According to State Information Service Egypt, the forum will feature a session titled 'Food and Water Security Today's Challenges and Future Safeguards,' which will explore the current challenges and the government's efforts to enhance self-sufficiency, reduce import dependency, and optimize resource utilization.
The meeting, held in line with President Abdel Fattah El Sisi's directives, focused on key themes for the forum and was attended by officials including the Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation, the Minister of Supply and Internal Trade, the Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation, and the Future of Egypt for Sustainable Development Authority's Secretary-General.
During the discussions, Madbouly highlighted the ongoing comprehensive review of all forum sessions, set to take place from October 19 to 24. The event aims to showcase Egypt's development achievements across various sectors.
The session will address challenges related to food and water security, such as population growth, climate change, limited water resources, and global market fluctuations. Efforts by state institutions to tackle these issues, particularly through agricultural expansion projects and securing strategic crops, were also discussed.
Participants at the meeting stressed the importance of transparency and public engagement during the forum to effectively address citizens' concerns and provide clear information on the challenges and measures taken to address them. The forum aims to highlight progress, assess state projects, and establish action plans to safeguard national resources and citizens' needs.
