Cairo:Minister of Education and Technical Education Mohamed Abdel Latif emphasized that enhancing the education system is a top priority for Egypt. He stated that the country's commitment to sustainable development is driving efforts to mobilize resources for improving education and preparing students for future challenges.

According to State Information Service Egypt, Abdel Latif made these remarks during a meeting with Paul Coust¨re, Director of the UNESCO Regional Office in Cairo. The meeting focused on strengthening cooperation on education-related issues and reviewing efforts to develop the education system. Abdel Latif congratulated Coust¨re on his new role and expressed a desire for continued collaboration with UNESCO.

The minister detailed various initiatives undertaken by the ministry to address challenges like classroom overcrowding, teacher shortages, and improving student attendance. Additionally, he highlighted training programs for teachers, launched in collaboration with UNICEF and the International Baccalaureate Organization, aimed at enhancing teachers' skills.

Paul Coust¨re commended the ministry's efforts to advance the education system and noted UNESCO's commitment to supporting these initiatives. Both parties agreed on the importance of continued cooperation and sharing of expertise to support Egypt's educational advancements.
