Egypt Plans Global Grain Logistics Hub at East Port Said

Cairo: Egypt is planning to establish a world-class logistics center for grain storage and distribution at East Port Said. The project, discussed in a meeting chaired by Deputy Supply Minister Walid Abu El-Magd, is part of a broader government effort to strengthen strategic commodity infrastructure, improve supply chains, and ensure food security.

According to State Information Service Egypt, during the meeting, Abu El-Magd emphasized that the logistics hub would increase storage capacity, enhance transport and distribution efficiency, and support the government's push to maximize the value of strategic commodities and localize related industries. Plans also include expanding the project to food processing and linking Egypt's grain supply chains to Arab and African markets.

The ministry of supply and internal trade stated that the project aligns with Egypt's broader strategy to enhance logistical and commercial capacities and achieve regional and international integration in food security.
