Cairo: Egypt's first 'Youth Train' departed from Ramses Station on Friday 5/12/2025, a program organized by the Ministry of Youth and Sports in cooperation with the National Railway Authority. More than 500 young men and women participated in the inaugural trip, which aims to promote historical and national awareness by visiting Egypt's archaeological and tourist sites in Luxor and Aswan. The program will run 10 trips between Dec. 5, 2025, and Feb. 6, 2026.
According to State Information Service Egypt, Minister of Youth and Sports Ashraf Sobhy attended the launch, greeting participants amid a festive atmosphere with music performances by ministry youth bands. The train will depart Cairo weekly on Fridays at 5:00 p.m., arriving in Aswan at 5:10 a.m. the following day, and return from Aswan on Thursdays at 8:00 p.m., reaching Cairo at 8:00 a.m. the next day.
