Egypt Launches National ID Card Services for Citizens in Saudi Arabia

Jeddah:Egypt has initiated services for the issuance of national ID cards to its citizens residing in Saudi Arabia. Consular teams began operations in Jeddah and Riyadh on Saturday, October 31, 2026, and these services are scheduled to continue until November 10.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the initiative is part of a broader effort to expand consular services and facilitate easier access to official documents for Egyptians living abroad. This effort is being carried out in coordination with the Interior Ministry's civil status department.

In addition to operations in Saudi Arabia, the Foreign Ministry has indicated that similar teams will be dispatched to other countries in the near future, responding to requests from Egyptian expatriates. Recently, these consular teams have completed missions in Qatar, Jordan, the UAE, Lebanon, and Kuwait, where they issued thousands of national ID cards.

The Ministry has advised Egyptians in Saudi Arabia and neighboring regions to reach out to the Egyptian consulate in Jeddah or the consular mission in Riyadh to verify the required documents and book necessary appointments.
