Cairo: In a significant step toward a more sustainable and globally competitive Egyptian industrial sector, the Ministry of Environment launched the Green Sustainable Industry (GSI) Program in 2025, with financial support of up to 271 million euros from international partners.
According to State Information Service Egypt, the program aims to reduce pollution and emissions, improve energy and resource efficiency within industrial facilities, and enhance the ability of productive sectors to adopt clean technologies that align with global environmental standards. This will help pave the way for increasing Egyptian exports, boosting production efficiency, and improving profitability-particularly in energy-intensive industries such as iron and steel, cement, chemicals, food processing, and waste management.
