Egypt, ICMPD Discuss Enhanced Cooperation on Migration Management


Antalya: Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty held talks on Saturday, 18/4/2026, with Susanne Raab, Director General of the International Center for Migration Policy Development (ICMPD). The talks focused on strengthening cooperation in managing migration issues in a comprehensive and balanced manner.



According to State Information Service Egypt, the meeting was held on the sidelines of the Antalya Diplomacy Forum, where they reviewed migration and asylum challenges. Abdelatty and Raab exchanged views on growing regional and international developments in the field. Both emphasized the importance of addressing migration through an integrated approach that considers development, security, and humanitarian dimensions.



The ICMPD chief praised Egypt’s efforts to manage migration issues, highlighting the country’s role in hosting a ministerial meeting of leading African countries. This meeting was part of the preparations for the International Migration Review Forum in New York, aimed at implementing the Global Compact for Safe, Orderly and Regular Migration.
