Cairo: Egypt hosted on Saturday, June 27, 2026, the 7th meeting of heads of National Liaison Offices for the African Union Mechanism for Police Cooperation (AFRIPOL). The event brought together representatives from 50 countries, along with several international organizations.
According to State Information Service Egypt, the three-day event reviewed the growing threat of cybercrime and means of exchanging expertise in this domain, especially as technology continues to advance rapidly. The meeting addressed techniques of digital forgery, misinformation, and digital manipulation while presenting several national experiences in confronting them, as well as AFRIPOL's strategies in combating terrorism and transnational organized crime.
As part of the program, attendees visited the Police Academy, where they saw the institution's training and educational facilities that are contributing to building local and international cadres.
