Egypt FM and Somalia’s National Security Adviser Discuss Strengthening Bilateral Relations

Oslo: Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty highlighted the progress in Egyptian-Somali relations during a meeting with Somalia’s National Security Advisor Hussein Sheikh-Ali at the Oslo Forum.

According to State Information Service Egypt, Abdelatty expressed Egypt’s commitment to fostering friendly ties with Somalia, emphasizing the need for enhanced cooperation in political, economic, and security sectors. The meeting underscored the significance of improving trade and investment collaboration, referencing the outcomes of the Egyptian-Somali business forum held in Cairo in January 2025.

Abdelatty also conveyed aspirations for Somalia to continue benefitting from training sessions provided by Egyptian institutions in the field of capacity building. He reaffirmed Egypt’s readiness to support the African Union mission aimed at stabilizing Somalia, aligning with Egypt’s enduring dedication to promoting security and stability in Somalia, which is vital for the overall stability of the region.
