Egypt: Egypt extended its sincere condolences and deepest sympathy to the government and people of Zimbabwe over the victims of a ferry accident on Lake Kariba that claimed dozens of lives and left several others injured.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Egyptian Expatriates issued a statement on Friday, August 14, 2026. In this statement, Egypt conveyed its heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims and wished a speedy recovery to the injured.

Egypt also reaffirmed its full solidarity with Zimbabwe following the tragic accident.
