Cairo: Egypt has extended its congratulations to Bahrain on its election by a majority of votes at the United Nations General Assembly to a non-permanent seat in the UN Security Council for a two-year term beginning in January 2026.
According to State Information Service Egypt, this move reflects full confidence in the Kingdom of Bahrain and its policies, as noted in a statement issued by Egypt’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates.
Egypt expressed confidence that Bahrain, under the leadership and vision of King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, will play a role in the Security Council in support of global peace and security. It is anticipated that Bahrain will serve as an “authentic Arab voice,” advocating for the causes and shared interests of the Arab world in this international forum.
Egypt further noted that Bahrain’s election reflects the kingdom’s standing and credibility in the international arena, affirming the global community’s trust in its ability to contribute to the promotion of international peace and security.
