Egypt: Egypt has strongly condemned on Sunday, September 20, 2026, the storming of Al-Aqsa Mosque by an Israeli official and a group of settlers under the protection of Israeli police forces.

According to State Information Service Egypt, Egypt denounced the move as a violation of the sanctity of Islamic holy sites and a provocation of Muslims around the world, warning that it could lead to further tension and escalation.

In a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Expatriates, Egypt stressed the need to uphold the existing historical and legal status quo at Al-Aqsa Mosque and respect the Hashemite custodianship over Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem.
