Port Sudan: The Arab Republic of Egypt has strongly condemned the attacks on infrastructure and vital facilities in the Sudanese cities of Port Sudan and Kassala. The incidents occurred in the early hours of May 4, 2025.

According to State Information Service Egypt, Egypt has highlighted the importance of preserving the resources of the Sudanese people, urging all parties to refrain from targeting infrastructure and civilian facilities. The Egyptian government stresses the need to maintain the unity and stability of Sudan, describing these attacks as detrimental to efforts aimed at restoring peace and facilitating the flow of humanitarian aid.

Egypt has further called for an immediate ceasefire, emphasizing that the protection of Sudanese resources is crucial to the country's stability. The Egyptian authorities reiterated that any actions targeting civilian infrastructure could severely undermine the initiatives designed to enhance assistance to the Sudanese population.
