Egypt Claims Nine Medals on First Day of Arab Wushu Kung Fu Championship

Abu Dhabi:Egypt secured nine medals, comprising eight golds and one silver, on the opening day of the seventh Arab Wushu Kung Fu Championship for juniors and youth, held in Tunisia. The event sees participation from 10 countries.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the championship includes three distinct competitions the seventh Arab National Teams Championship for youth in Sanda and Taolu, the seventh Arab Clubs Championship for various age groups, and the first-ever Arab Youth Duan Bing Championship.

Egypt is represented by its national team and athletes from seven clubs, bringing a total of 70 competitors. The participating clubs are 6th of October Sporting Club, Alexandria Military Institution, Haikstep Military Institution, Alexandria Petroleum Club, National Bank of Egypt Club in Giza, El-Bitash Club, and Ahly El-Malahah Club in Alexandria.

The gold medalists in the Sanda category for Egypt were Malek Mohamed Adel Mohamed (junior 39kg), Yazan Ahmed Mohamed Abdo (junior 48kg), Hamza Osama Abdel Moneim (youth 48kg), Mohamed Medhat Ezzat (youth 52kg), Omar Mohamed Fathy (youth 56kg), Nadine Ahmed Abdelwahid (youth 48kg), Rehab Hassan Othman (youth 52kg), and Eman Mohieddin Ali (youth 60kg). Ahmed Mohamed Abdelhalim Mourad earned a silver in the junior 52kg category.

In addition, nine Egyptian athletes have reached the finals and will compete for gold medals. These athletes are Malek Abdelrahman Abdelhamid (junior 45kg), Adam Mohamed Abdelaziz (junior 56kg), Mariam Ehab Fathy (junior 39kg), Mariam Omar Abdelrahman (junior 45kg), Malak Abdelhadi Attia (junior 48kg), Marwan Osama Abdel Aal (youth 60kg), Moustafa Ibrahim Mostafa (youth 65kg), Yassin Mohamed Moussa (youth 70kg), and Joumana Mohamed Abdel Latif (youth 56kg).
