Egypt and Turkey Forge New Defence Manufacturing Alliances at EDEX 2025

Cairo: Minister of State for Military Production Mohamed Salah El-Din Mostafa met with G¶khan U§ar, Vice President of Turkey's Defence Industries Agency, at EDEX 2025 to discuss new partnerships in military manufacturing. The meeting took place at the ministry's pavilion during the International Defence Exhibition held at the Egypt International Exhibition Center under the patronage of President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi.

According to State Information Service Egypt, Minister Mostafa highlighted the Ministry of Military Production's pivotal role in Egypt's defence sector, emphasizing its contributions to both military and civilian industries. He underscored the ministry's focus on enhancing local content in military products, aligning with national directives to integrate advanced manufacturing technologies.

Minister Mostafa acknowledged the significant Turkish presence at EDEX 2025, noting the participation of 81 Turkish companies as a positive indicator of the strengthening bilateral relationship based on mutual respect and interests. G¶khan U§ar, representing the Turkish delegation, praised the advancements showcased by Egypt's Ministry of Military Production. He expressed Turkey's enthusiasm for collaboration with Egyptian companies, recognizing them as key industrial players in the region.

Gkhan U§ar also remarked on EDEX's status as a major international defence exhibition, which facilitates global engagement and the exploration of opportunities in military production. The meeting concluded with both parties agreeing on the importance of continued expert exchanges and technical visits to evaluate technological capabilities and establish effective collaboration mechanisms.
