Cairo: Egypt and Sudan have announced plans to establish a technical school focused on vocational training. This development was discussed in a meeting between the Egyptian Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation, Hani Sweilem, and the Sudanese Minister of Agriculture and Irrigation, Dr. Esmat Al-Qurashi, alongside relevant authorities from both nations.
According to State Information Service Egypt, the meeting aimed to prepare a joint memorandum of understanding to bolster cooperation in the fields of water resources, irrigation, drinking water, and sanitation. Dr. Sweilem emphasized that the forthcoming memorandum is poised to enhance collaboration through full coordination with Egypt's Ministry of Housing and the National Authority for Drinking Water and Sanitation.
The discussions also explored avenues for cooperation in digital transformation and infrastructure modernization. Both sides expressed interest in sharing expertise in the operation, management, and maintenance of Sudan's water sector, signaling a commitment to leveraging each country's strengths for mutual benefit.
