Egypt and South Korea Sign Multiple Agreements to Boost Bilateral Cooperation

Cairo:President Abdel Fattah El Sisi of Egypt and President Lee Jae Myung of South Korea attended the signing of several agreements and memorandums of understanding aimed at enhancing cooperation between the two nations.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the leaders witnessed the signing of a social security agreement between their respective governments. This agreement was signed by Egypt's Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Egyptian Expatriates, Badr Abdelatty, and South Korea's Foreign Minister, Cho Hyun.

Additionally, a memorandum of understanding was signed between Egypt's Ministry of Communications and Information Technology and South Korea's Ministry of Science and ICT. This agreement focuses on collaboration in the field of information and communications technology. Badr Abdelatty signed on behalf of Egypt, while South Korean Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Science and ICT, Bae Kyung-hoon, represented South Korea.

Another key agreement involved Egypt's Ministry of Electricity and Renewable Energy and South Korea's Ministry of Climate, Energy and Environment. This memorandum of understanding, signed by Badr Abdelatty, seeks to promote cooperation in clean energy initiatives.

Further agreements included a memorandum of understanding between Egypt's Ministry of Industry and South Korea's Ministry of Trade, Industry and Resources, signed by Khaled Hashem for Egypt. Additionally, a maritime cooperation agreement was signed between Egypt's Ministry of Transport and South Korea's Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries, with Egyptian Transport Minister Kamel el Wazir signing on behalf of Egypt.

Finally, the two presidents oversaw the signing of a joint statement to initiate negotiations for a comprehensive economic partnership agreement. This was signed by Egypt's Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade, Mohamed Farid Saleh, and involves collaboration between Egypt's Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade and South Korea's Ministry of Trade, Industry and Resources.
