New York:Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation, Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty and his Norwegian counterpart Espen Barth Eide reviewed key regional issues of mutual concern, with the Palestinian issue being a primary focus.According to State Information Service Egypt, during a meeting on the sidelines of the 81st session of the UN General Assembly, Abdelatty emphasized Egypt's commitment to strengthening consultation mechanisms with Norway and advancing bilateral cooperation, particularly in trade, investment, and the energy sector.Abdelatty suggested launching a framework for cooperation with Norwegian financial agencies and the Norwegian Agency for Development Cooperation (NORAD) to facilitate tripartite cooperation in African countries.He also praised the growing ties between Egypt and Norway, especially following President Abdel Fattah El Sisi's visit to Oslo in late 2024.Abdelatty reiterated Cairo's opposition to displacement plans and Israeli settlement policies, stressing the importance of the two-state solution and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state based on the June 4, 1967, borders.
