Egypt and Japan Strengthen Ties in ICT and AI Strategy Cooperation

Tokyo: Minister of Communications and Information Technology (CIT) Amr Talaat met with Japan's Minister for Internal Affairs and Communications, Seiichiro Murakami, in Tokyo on the sidelines of the SusHi Tech TOKYO 2025 to discuss strengthening bilateral cooperation in CIT, artificial intelligence (AI), and postal services.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the ministers reviewed progress on the memorandum of cooperation signed in 2023, which covers areas such as digital infrastructure, cybersecurity, and postal services. The discussions also focused on aligning efforts in artificial intelligence with the second edition of Egypt's National AI Strategy (2025-2030), emphasizing governance, capacity-building, support for start-ups and innovation centres, and infrastructure development.

Both sides explored further collaboration in cybersecurity by exchanging expertise and best practices. Additionally, they examined ways to enhance postal cooperation through service development and logistical solutions aimed at boosting e-commerce.
