Egypt and Greece Launch Medusa-15 Military Drill in Collaboration with France, Italy, and Cyprus

Cairo: Egypt and Greece have initiated the 'Medusa-15' joint military exercise on Greek territory, involving the active participation of Cyprus, France, and Italy, as announced by the Armed Forces on Tuesday, September 15, 2026. This multi-day exercise is being conducted in the Mediterranean region and at several Greek air bases, featuring diverse military units from the five nations, including naval, air, air defense, reconnaissance, and special forces.According to State Information Service Egypt, the Medusa-15 exercise commenced with a joint Egyptian-Greek naval transit drill and includes both theoretical and practical training aimed at coordinating combat concepts and exchanging expertise among the participating forces. The drill encompasses maritime and air combat operations, live-fire exercises, and training to counter unconventional threats, showcasing the operational readiness of the involved forces.This exercise is part of Egypt's broader program of joint military drills with friendly and allied c ountries, enhancing military collaboration and strategic coordination in the region.
