Egypt and Gambia Strengthen Military Ties with High-Level Meeting

Cairo: Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces Lieutenant General Ahmed Khalifa met with Gambian Chief of Defense Staff Lieutenant General Mamat Cham and his delegation, who are currently visiting Egypt. The meeting took place at the General Secretariat of the Ministry of Defense and began with an official reception ceremony that included the playing of national anthems by military bands.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the discussions focused on regional and international developments and their implications for African security and stability. Both military leaders explored ways to enhance cooperation between their respective armed forces. Lieutenant General Ahmed Khalifa highlighted the strong partnership between the Egyptian Armed Forces and friendly nations, emphasizing the importance of mutual military interests.

Lieutenant General Mamat Cham praised Egypt's role in promoting regional stability and expressed a desire for increased joint cooperation in the future. Several military leaders from both countries attended the meeting, underscoring the significance of the discussions.
