Cairo: Minister of Education and Technical Education Mohamed Abdel Latif held talks with French Ambassador to Egypt Eric Chevallier to explore avenues for expanding cooperation in technical education, focusing on leveraging French expertise to enhance educational programs and better prepare students for the workforce.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the discussions centered on aligning technical education and Applied Technology Schools more closely with the needs of employers in both Egypt and international markets.

Abdel Latif emphasized the ministry's commitment to improving technical education by integrating training that meets the demands of employers. He highlighted Egypt's interest in collaborating with France to develop educational programs that adhere to French standards, potentially allowing students to earn internationally recognized qualifications and certificates. This collaboration aims to improve graduates' employment opportunities in various markets.

The dialogue also covered potential cooperation in technical fields such as agriculture, hospitality, and hotel management, with an emphasis on developing skilled workers for these industries. Abdel Latif noted the ministry's pursuit of international partnerships and collaborations with the private sector to equip students with practical skills that address evolving economic and employment landscapes.

Chevallier reiterated France's willingness to continue its cooperation with Egypt, particularly in the areas of technical education and Applied Technology Schools. The meeting included senior officials from the Egyptian Ministry of Education, representatives from the French Embassy, the French Institute in Egypt, and the French Development Agency.
