Egypt and Burkina Faso FMs Discuss Bilateral Relations and Regional Cooperation

Cairo: Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty held a phone conversation with Burkina Faso's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Regional Cooperation, and Burkinab© Abroad Karamoko Traor© to explore avenues for strengthening bilateral relations and exchanging views on regional matters of shared interest.

According to State Information Service Egypt, Abdelatty extended his congratulations to Traor© on Burkina Faso's recent assumption of the rotating presidency of the Sahel States Alliance. He emphasized Egypt's intention to deepen its ties with Burkina Faso and to enhance coordination on regional and international issues. Abdelatty underscored the historical depth of the relationship between the two nations.

Abdelatty highlighted the significance of expanding trade, fostering connections between the business communities of both countries, and creating opportunities for Egyptian companies to invest in sectors such as health, infrastructure, energy, mining, and construction.

The Egyptian Minister reaffirmed Egypt's support for Burkina Faso's efforts in combating terrorism and promoting security and stability. He pointed out the ongoing cooperation in security, military training, and capacity building. Abdelatty also mentioned the development programs implemented by the Egyptian Agency of Partnership for Development and the Cairo International Center for Conflict Resolution, Peacekeeping and Peacebuilding, along with Al-Azhar's contributions to cultural and religious outreach through training initiatives and scholarships.
