Egypt and AFCAC Discuss Advancing African Civil Aviation Cooperation

Cairo: Civil Aviation Minister Sameh El-Hefny met African Civil Aviation Commission (AFCAC) President Florent Serge Dzota on Thursday, September 10, 2026, on the sidelines of the second Egypt International Airshow in New Alamein. The discussions centered on enhancing African aviation cooperation, improving air transport standards, and fostering integration throughout the continent.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the two leaders also addressed preparations for forthcoming international and African aviation conferences scheduled for November. They highlighted the importance of establishing a sustainable air transport industry capable of tackling emerging challenges.

During the meeting, El-Hefny reiterated Egypt's dedication to bolstering African cooperation and integration within the civil aviation sector. In response, Dzota acknowledged Egypt's significant expertise and its influential role in advancing aviation across Africa.
