Egypt: Egypt's Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli announced ongoing government efforts to maximize the utilization of the country's abundant phosphate reserves. The initiative aims to expand the production of phosphate and compound fertilizers, meeting domestic demand and enhancing Egypt's presence in international markets.

According to State Information Service Egypt, Madbouli emphasized the government's commitment to increasing the value derived from Egypt's mineral resources by supporting scientific research, keeping pace with developments in earth sciences, and enhancing cooperation with leading international institutions in the sector. He highlighted the focus on localizing mining-related industries, particularly those based on phosphate resources, to transition from exporting raw materials to manufacturing value-added products.

The announcement came during a meeting chaired by Madbouli to review progress on phosphate mining projects and efforts to expand related industries. Key officials present included Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Karim Badawi, and representatives from several national organizations and companies involved in the mining and chemical sectors.

Cabinet Spokesman Ambassador Mohamed el-Homosani reported that the meeting reviewed the volume of phosphate reserves across the country, current production capacities, and the operational status of phosphate fertilizer plants. Discussions also covered efforts to expand value-added phosphate industries and projects with local and international companies aimed at maximizing the economic return from Egypt's phosphate resources.
