Cairo: Egypt's telecommunications sector has witnessed significant development over the past decade as a result of substantial investments in digital infrastructure and the expansion of telecommunications services to reach millions of citizens. The number of mobile internet subscribers reached 90.64 million, while fixed broadband subscribers totaled 12.18 million as of July 2025.

According to State Information Service Egypt, this progress has contributed to Egypt's remarkable improvement in the United Nations Index for 'Individuals using the Internet,' advancing by a total of 40 points over the past ten years.
