Beheira: Minister of Planning and Economic Development Ahmed Rostom has unveiled the "Citizen Investment Plan" for the Beheira Governorate for the fiscal year 2026/2027, which allocates EGP 9.9 billion in public investments. This marks a 33 percent increase from the previous year and represents 1.2 percent of the total state public investments. The plan includes 422 development projects spanning infrastructure and human development sectors.
According to State Information Service Egypt, the detailed information on these projects is accessible via the "Sharek" mobile application, empowering citizens to monitor their implementation and propose development ideas. Rostom emphasized the government's ongoing field visits to ensure the effective utilization of public investments. He highlighted that the project selection process involved local administrations and civil society organizations to foster transparency.
Beheira Governor Jakleen Azer expressed her approval of the allocated investments, ensuring complete coordination with the ministry to tackle the governorate's urgent needs in public services. The investment plan specifies that 22 percent of the funds will go to housing, 16 percent to higher education, 16 percent to transport, 14 percent to local development, 11 percent to pre-university education, and 11 percent to the health sector.
