London: Minister of Finance Ahmed Kouchouk said that efforts to improve the country's economic performance will be doubled in the coming period through balanced fiscal policies. Egypt is not in competition with anyone, but rather seeks to increase the competitiveness of its economy as well as to support development and economic growth efforts, the minister added in his extended dialogue with international investors at the British Egyptian Business Association (BEBA) in London.According to State Information Service Egypt, Kouchouk emphasized the importance of continued tax and customs reforms to simplify procedures, reduce costs, and shorten clearance times to attract more investments. He noted that specialized partners and teams will ensure more efficient tax services with a full commitment to a comprehensive review and promotion of taxpayers' rights through legislation and decisions aiming to achieve tax justice.The minister urged local and international investors to make the optimal use of the economic opportunities available in Egypt, describing the country as a gateway to many others. In this regard, he pointed out that Egypt enjoys a competitive growth structure and coherent policies.
