Cairo: Minister of Education and Technical Education Mohamed Abdel Latif affirmed that investing in education is the most effective path to building more stable and tolerant societies, stressing that strengthening international cooperation in education is a fundamental pillar for achieving the sustainable development goals and shaping a future founded on peace.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the Ministry of Education and Technical Education issued a statement on Friday, August 7, 2026, noting that the remarks came during Abdel Latif's participation in the World Peace University Presidents Conference at Hiroshima University. During the conference, he delivered a speech highlighting the role of education in promoting the values of peace and sustainability.

The minister attended the conference alongside Egypt's Ambassador to Japan, Ragy El-Etreby, Second Secretary and member of the Embassy of the Arab Republic of Egypt in Tokyo Ahmed Raafat, Hiroshima University President Professor Mitsuo Ochi, as well as a number of university presidents and academic and diplomatic figures from around the world.

This participation reflects Egypt's growing international standing in the field of education development and its commitment to contributing to global initiatives that recognize education as the cornerstone of building peace and achieving sustainable development among nations.
