ECS and Expolink Collaborate to Enhance Egyptian Export Strategies

Cairo: Minister Plenipotentiary for Trade, Dr. Abdel Aziz El-Sherif, First Undersecretary of the Ministry and Head of the Egyptian Commercial Service (ECS), recently met with Mohamed Qassem, Chairman of the Egyptian Exporters Association (Expolink), along with several senior officials, to discuss strategies for strengthening cooperation aimed at boosting Egyptian exports to international markets.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the meeting underscored the ECS's efforts to coordinate with national entities involved in export activities. The goal is to enhance the entry of Egyptian products into global markets, improve cooperation on established market-entry mechanisms, and explore new export opportunities. Dr. El-Sherif emphasized Expolink's role as a strategic partner in the export sector, focusing on expanding the base of Egyptian exporters and targeting high value-added industries.

Mohamed Qassem highlighted the enduring partnership between Expolink and the ECS, particularly in export development and attracting foreign investment. He pointed out the shift from Asian to African markets in global industry, positioning Egypt strategically to benefit from this change. This shift has led to increased investment interest in the Egyptian market and a growing demand for Egyptian exports.

Qassem also mentioned that the Egyptian Exporters Association has restructured its activities to include promoting investment for export. This initiative will be coordinated with ECS offices abroad to attract foreign direct investment, especially in industries targeting export markets. Additionally, Ahmed Taha, Executive Director of Expolink, reviewed the mechanisms of the association's promotional programs and the outcomes of trade missions conducted in collaboration with commercial offices.

Dr. El-Sherif confirmed that the ECS plans to organize regular virtual meetings with its offices abroad. These meetings aim to address inquiries from Egyptian companies and raise awareness about foreign markets, product registration requirements, and relevant trade authorities in those markets.
