ECAA and ACAO Ink MoU to Enhance Media Cooperation

Cairo: Minister of Civil Aviation Sameh El-Hefny witnessed the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the Egyptian Civil Aviation Authority (ECAA) and the Arab Civil Aviation Organization (ACAO) to strengthen cooperation in media and communications.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the MoU was signed on the sidelines of the second day of the 11th Africa and Indian Ocean (AFI) Aviation Week 2026. This event, organized by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), is being hosted by Egypt in Cairo for the first time from July 27 to 31. The agreement was signed by Chairman of the Egyptian Civil Aviation Authority Sameh Mohamed Fawzy and ACAO Director General Khaled El Sharkawy.

The MoU aims to enhance cooperation in media and communications through the exchange of information, data, and specialized publications. It seeks to promote joint activities and initiatives across various media platforms. The agreement also includes the development of a joint action plan to oversee the implementation of areas of cooperation. Regular meetings will be held to review progress, sustain coordination, and further develop joint working mechanisms.

El-Hefny stated that the agreement reflects the civil aviation sector's commitment to strengthening cooperation between the two organizations. This commitment supports joint Arab action and the exchange of expertise and information in line with international best practices. He noted that raising awareness of civil aviation issues and highlighting the initiatives and achievements of Arab aviation institutions would aid in building a more advanced and efficient aviation system. This aligns with sustainable development goals and Egypt's vision of promoting regional and international cooperation.
