Cairo: President of the Egypt-Japan University of Science and Technology (E-JUST) Ahmed El-Sabbagh said the university places artificial intelligence (AI) and data science at the core of its academic and research strategy through specialized degree programs, research centers, and partnerships with Japanese universities, supporting Egypt's digital transformation and knowledge-based economy.

According to State Information Service Egypt, speaking at the closing ceremony of the fourth edition of the university's AI capacity-building initiative, El-Sabbagh said E-JUST's educational model, which integrates academic study, practical application, and scientific research, enables students to contribute to national technology initiatives and develop practical solutions to development challenges.

He added that the university's participation in the initiative aims to prepare qualified professionals in AI and digital technologies capable of meeting the demands of the Fourth Industrial Revolution while enhancing graduates' competitiveness at the local, regional, and international levels.

El-Sabbagh also commended the efforts of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, in cooperation with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and industry partners, describing the initiative as a successful model of cooperation among universities, the government, and the private sector to nurture young talent and transform innovative ideas into practical applications that serve society and support sustainable development goals.
