Defense Minister Observes Key Phase of Chemical Warfare Exercise

Cairo:Defense Minister and Military Production Minister Ashraf Salem Zaher has observed the main phase of a strategic command exercise focused on chemical warfare operations through a videoconference session.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the exercise, which spanned several days, included the presence of Army Chief of Staff Ahmed Khalifa, commanders from the Armed Forces' main branches, and leaders from field armies and military zones.

The main phase featured a review of the exercise concept, previous activities, and reports assessing the readiness and combat preparedness of the participating units. Zaher conveyed President Abdel Fattah El Sisi's greetings and appreciation to the chemical warfare personnel and reiterated the Armed Forces' dedication to advancing its chemical protection systems in accordance with the latest international standards.

Military Chief of Staff Ahmed Khalifa participated in part of the exercise, where he reviewed reports and discussed procedures for coordination among specialized elements. The participants emphasized the importance of maintaining high readiness levels and continuously improving the Armed Forces' chemical protection systems to effectively respond to emergencies.
