Geneva: Labor Minister Hassan Raddad on Thursday, March 26, 2026, underscored the need to strengthen joint Arab action and enhance coordination within international forums to safeguard the interests of Arab peoples amid current regional and global challenges. Speaking at the Arab Coordination Group meeting on the sidelines of the International Labor Organization (ILO) board sessions in Geneva, Raddad reaffirmed Egypt’s full solidarity with Gulf states and Jordan, rejecting any infringement on their sovereignty or security.
According to State Information Service Egypt, Raddad also reiterated Egypt’s continued support for the Palestinian cause, stressing the importance of Arab cooperation for Gaza’s reconstruction and the creation of employment opportunities for affected families as part of an integrated vision to promote regional stability and development. As Chairman of the Arab Labor Organization (ALO) Board, Raddad chaired the coordination meeting attended by ALO Director-General Fayez Al-Mutairi, ILO Regional Director for Arab States Ruba Jaradat, and representatives from Arab nations, employers’ organizations, and labor bodies.
The meeting addressed financial challenges facing the ILO, highlighting the need to maintain a balanced approach that ensures the organization continues its role without compromising workers’ rights. Participants emphasized enhancing coordination among Arab delegations, exchanging technical information, and supporting member states facing specific challenges to unify the Arab position within the ILO.
Concluding the session, Raddad stressed the necessity of sustained consultations among Arab states to strengthen their effective role in the ILO and advance labor and development priorities across the Arab region.
