Alexandria:The Alexandria Port Authority welcomed the cruise ship MEIN SCHIFF 5 on Sunday, September 27, 2026. The vessel arrived from Heraklion, Greece, carrying 3,502 passengers, which included 2,560 tourists and 942 crew members.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the ship's arrival is part of an increase in cruise-ship traffic at the port, showcasing its ability to handle various types of cruise vessels and provide high-standard services for passengers.

The itinerary for the tourists includes visits to significant archaeological and historical sites in Alexandria, Cairo, and Giza, featuring ancient Egyptian, Greco-Roman, and Islamic landmarks. Additionally, a cycling tour around Alexandria will be organized, allowing some passengers to experience the city's unique atmosphere and landmarks.

Officials from the Alexandria Port Authority, in collaboration with the Ministry of Transport, the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, the Egyptian Tourism Promotion Authority, and the Alexandria Governorate's Regional Tourism Promotion Authority, coordinated the reception of the vessel. The ship is scheduled to continue its journey to Rhodes, Greece, later this evening.
