Council of Arab Information Ministers Urges Arab Media to Highlight Iranian Aggression

Cairo: The Council of Arab Information Ministers has issued a statement emphasizing the importance of the Arab media's role in educating public opinion on the realities of the blatant Iranian aggression against several sisterly Arab countries, which targets their security, facilities, and the capabilities of their peoples.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the statement was proposed by the Arab Republic of Egypt, represented by the Ministry of State for Information, and approved by the Arab states. It included a warning against being misled by fallacies being promoted to sow discord and incite strife among Arab peoples.

The Council has closely monitored regional developments, specifically the ongoing military attacks, threats, and provocative acts perpetrated by Iran against several Arab states, including the United Arab Emirates, Jordan, Iraq, Kuwait, Bahrain, Oman, Saudi Arabia, and Qatar.

The Council expressed gratitude to all Arab media outlets that have reported these developments with professionalism and commitment to national Arab principles. These outlets have demonstrated the cohesion and strength of Arab societies targeted by these attacks and reflected the official and popular Arab consensus on solidarity and the right to legitimate self-defense.

The statement calls upon all forms of Arab media to educate Arab and global public opinion about the facts, emphasizing that Iranian attacks on certain Arab countries constitute brutal and unjustified aggression against peaceful nations.

The Council stressed the importance of informing the public that Iranian attacks have largely targeted civilian facilities, infrastructure, and resources of Arab peoples, harming the safety of citizens, residents, and visitors alike.

Furthermore, the Council highlighted the need for media to avoid confusion between the military operations involving Iran, Israel, and the United States, and the aggressive Iranian attacks on Arab states. It warned against conflating these distinct issues, urging Arab social media users not to be misled by rumors designed to sow division among Arab peoples.

The Council calls for comprehensive Arab cooperation to inform international public opinion about the reality of Iranian aggressions against Arab countries and the violation of their sovereignty. This includes engaging with major international media outlets to provide facts and correct the fallacies being promoted.

May God protect the Arab nation, its unity, its solidarity, and the safety of all its peoples and lands.
