Cairo: Remittances from Egyptians working abroad have seen a significant increase, jumping by 28.1% in the first seven months of 2026, according to the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE). This rise has brought the total remittances to approximately $29.7 billion, compared to around $23.2 billion during the same period in the previous year.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the bank highlighted that the positive trend in remittances continued through July 2026. In that month alone, there was a year-on-year growth of 20%, with remittances reaching about $4.5 billion, up from approximately $3.8 billion in July 2025.
